Deep Ellum Arts Festival = PARKING MAYHEMNow that we are all partially recovered from last week's crazy comedy time, we can finally take some time and relax.
Of course, by "relax," we mean: "Parking is going to be nuts in Deep Ellum starting tomorrow so please plan ahead!" The Deep Ellum Arts Fest is taking over Main Street (and our parking lot) and will be filled with beautiful art vendors from across the country, music, and fair food. It is a lot of fun and we hope you will take advantage of this Deep Ellum tradition! It will also make parking for classes and shows tricky. We recommend:
Please plan accordingly and allow extra time for walking/navigating Deep Ellum. We will have our regularly scheduled shows. Bathrooms will be for paying customers only (at the recommendation of the Deep Ellum Arts Festival committee). Have fun at the Festival, come buy a beer inside, use our potties, and maybe see a show or two!

It's Here. The Dallas Comedy Festival kicked off last night and, boy, was it a fun time.
Be sure to make room on your calendar to come check-out some of the amazingly talented performers in town for the week! If you missed last night, you can see some photos capturing the highlights on our Facebook page. Shout-out to Allie, Jason, and Nkechi for their phenomenal photography! There are also a few (read: total of 15) spots left in some of our workshops. Check out their descriptions and pick on that works best for you here. Night one may be done, but we've got four more nights of comedy, JELL-O shots, and FESTIVAL. Let's make the most of it. www.dallascomedyfestival.com All the Fun Things. We are less than one week away from the 7th Annual Dallas Comedy Festival! It is the. biggest. week. of. the. year.
If you've ever thought you've had fun at DCH before the festival, you were wrong. The festival is the most fun. It's seriously the best. You'll never be the same after you experience DCF. As we gear up for the most fun week of the year, here are two quick tips: No Classes/Room Rentals Monday 3/21-Sunday 3/27 With DCF taking over the Training Center for the week, classes and room rentals are canceled. We hope you will all take advantage of the over 100 unique acts hitting the DCH stage. More information and tickets available at www.dallascomedyfestival.com There's a Showcase Tonight Our level 1, Term 1A class has their showcase tonight (3/16) at 7:30 pm. They are the first class to kick off our monthly class offerings (before them, we were registering classes every other month), which makes them pretty cool in our book. They're also a lot of fun. #DCF2016I don't know if y'all have heard, but there's a comedy festival in Dallas in less than two weeks!
It's big. It's awesome. And this week's What's Up Wednesday is once again devoted to keeping you in the loop. #DCF2016: Do you have a twitter? Do you like to eat and or drink? Are you coming to #DCF2016? If you answered "yes," then you're in luck! By using the hashtag #DCF2016 this week, you could win a $75 bar tab to use during the festival! THAT'S 37 JELL-O SHOTS! Get to tweeting, little songbirds. Workshops: Out of the 150 available workshop spots, we only have 30 spots left! Classes will be off during the week of DCF, but that doesn't mean your learning needs to stop. You can see the full list of offerings and pick a course that fits your needs here. Shows: Tickets officially went on sale on Monday. Peruse the schedule, pick your favorite sketch, stand-up, and improv shows, and buy tickets all on the DCF Website (right here!). As a reminder: student and performer IDs do not work to get into shows during the festival. I can't wait to celebrate comedy with you in thirteen days! Above: A line extends outside the old Dallas Comedy House theater on Commerce Street during Dallas Comedy Festival 2015 The Early Bird Gets the WorkshopThe Dallas Comedy Festival is just 20 days away. (TWENTY DAYS!)
If you've ever been, you know that it's basically the best week of your entire comedy life. If you've never been, well, now you know what to look forward to! Here are some tips and tricks for navigating your way through #DCF2016: WORKSHOPS: If you are at all thinking about taking a workshop (there are some incredible workshops being offered by local and out-of-town facilitators), you should sign up as soon as possible. Two workshops are already sold out and spaces are limited! Plus, you save $$$ if you sign up by Sunday. CLICK HERE TO VIEW WORKSHOPS SOCIAL MEDIA: Follow @dallascomfest on Twitter. Like The Dallas Comedy Festival on Facebook. Not only is it a great way to stay in the loop, we will also be doing some ticket giveaways to shows starting next week. HASHTAG WITH US! SEEING SHOWS: Because DCF is not regularly scheduled programming, student IDs do not get you in to see shows. And, most shows sell out. The best way to guarantee a seat at the shows is to buy a ticket (duh). If you are planning on seeing LOTS of shows, consider investing in the All-Access Pass (on sale until Sunday, 3/6 at midnight). Otherwise, individual show tickets go on sale Monday 3/7 at 10am. Set a calendar reminder - you don't want to be the silly head who can't get in to a show because you hit snooze! TICKETS AND PASSES ON SALE HERE VOLUNTEER: Volunteers make the festival happen. They also get to sneak (not so sneaky - they're allowed) into shows for free, get a t-shirt and swag bag, and probably have the most fun of anyone at the Festival. We'd love to have lots of DCH friendly faces greeting our out of town guests. That could be you! Sign up to volunteer by this Sunday (3/6)! CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO |
