Submission Structure
ImprovLong form and short form improv can both be submitted to DCH. Troupes that have never been seen by the DCH Artistic Committee or troupes that have had significant changes will be scheduled in a free time slot (Improv Playground, King of the Mountain, or Rough Draft). Improv troupes are encouraged to discuss the types of shows they can and want to do among themselves and their coach before submitting. Attendance of at least 90% of members is expected for every DCH scheduled show.

Stand-Up & Storytelling
Solo performers looking to be added to a show can reach out to [email protected] or [email protected] for booking information. For people looking to submit a block of stand-up or storytelling, please use the submission form. The Artistic Committee may reach out to you for more information about your show prior to placing you on the schedule.
Sketch & Specialty
For written sketch or specialty shows (game show, variety, etc.), there is a three-step process for getting placed on the schedule. You may use the submission form to submit, but it will need to be done in conjunction with the following:
- Schedule a table read or an idea presentation meeting with the Artistic Committee by emailing [email protected]. At the table read, you will be given notes on whether the show could be placed on the DCH schedule and a plan for a rehearsal visit.
- Work with Artistic Committee to have them visit a rehearsal. There you will be given notes on whether the show will be placed on the schedule along with a plan for the audience preview.
- Work with the Artistic Committee to schedule an audience preview. At this point in the process, if the Artistic Committee deems the show not ready for the schedule - it may be moved back to steps 1 or 2.
Paying Performers
Most DCH-produced shows have a set rate of pay for performers, regardless of the amount of tickets sold. This is due to the rehearsal requirements for these types of shows. For submitted shows placed on the main stage schedule, a bonus may be paid after the show date or run of shows. This bonus will occur if the average ticket sales are over 75% capacity, and the payment will be based on ticket price. For any questions regarding payment, please reach out to [email protected].
