Ewing Auditions!Mark your calendars for the next round of Ewing auditions on Saturday, March 7th at noon. Auditions are open to performers, alumni, and students who are currently enrolled in Improv Level 4 or higher. Follow this link to read more and download the audition application. The next Ewing teams will be coached by Paco Giurfa and Patrick Hennessey. What a treat! Patrick has been performing Improv and Sketch at DCH since 2016. He is a graduate of the DCH Training Center, a coach, a TA, and a former co-host of the Tuesday Night Jam. He is also a former enthusiastic but self-critical Level 3 student who went to Ewing tryouts with hardly any confidence that he would make the cut. If it was 2016 again, you could see him perform with Ewing Team Plum... now you can see him perform with Big Turtle, Coiffelganger, Intruder, and Primary Colours! Paco Giurfa moved from Lima, Peru to Dallas in 2015 and fell in love with Improv at Dallas Comedy House. When he is not on stage, he is a UX engineer, which is totally cool and a real job. Also find him "singing" different versions of Toxic by Britney Spears at karaoke bars, cooking Peruvian food for his husband, or picking up dog/cat poop. Festival Announcements! The 11th Annual Dallas Comedy Festival will be here in less than a month, and we can't wait! JUST ANNOUNCED: DCF 2020 Headliners! BABY WANTS CANDY One of the most popular and critically acclaimed international comedy ensembles, with casts in Chicago, LA and New York, and an international touring company, Baby Wants Candy has helped launch the careers of various top comedic actors and writers in the US, from Craig Cackowski (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development) to Jack McBrayer (Kenneth in 30 Rock), Vanessa Bayer and Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live), Thomas Middleditch (HBO’s Silicon Valley) and Peter Gwinn (Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report). After years of fully sell-out runs and critical acclaim all over the world, including Scotland, Australia, and the Kennedy Center in DC, this comedy institution smash-hit wonder has become one of the most celebrated improv shows in the world and comes to Dallas this March with brand new, ad-libbed, exhilarating 55-minute musicals, all taken from audience suggestions. Baby Want Candy creates the opening and closing night of a one night only smash-hit musical – every single night. Witness the plot of Kanye West Side Story be pulled out of thin air. Behold the beauty of theatre as Mary Poppins Has Ebola comes to life. Each show is a roller-coaster ride of spontaneously choreographed numbers. Unscripted, unguided, unpredictable... and often uncontrollable. If you have yet to see for yourself what all this fuss is about, be sure to catch one (or two) of their completely original musicals in Dallas! www.babywantscandy.com / TWITTER @Babywantscandy DULCE SLOAN Dulcé Sloan is one of the sharpest, fastest rising voices in comedy.
