AT THE THEATER
This week, DCH = Dallas Cares, Houston
Our neighbors on the Gulf Coast are in the middle of one of the worst natural disasters of a lifetime. To show our support, Dallas Comedy House is launching a few initiatives this week. A food drive for North Texas Food Bank in the Training Center and theater now thru Sunday, all ticket sales from the Sunday shows (including student showcases and a special 'Hometown Houston' show) going to Dallas County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, joining Central Track's #DTX4HTX efforts with 20% of all sales on Wednesday, September 6th, and we've reached out to Houston's Station Theater and offered our assistance.
If you're located a little further north, our friends at ComedySportz Dallas are donating 20% of their proceeds from their Saturday shows and are accepting additional donations. OKC Improv will be donating proceeds from the Friday, September 8th show, as well.
Student Lotto is Back!
This show is a fantastic opportunity for students of all levels to receive stage time alongside DCH instructors. The show will happen every Sunday at 6:00 pm and if you'd like to submit, just enter your name in this form!

As kiddos dawn their freshly packed backpacks and teachers bust out the brand new dry erase markers, we at DCH are also caught up in the 'back to school' frenzy! Coming this September, DCH will be hosting three specialty workshops to further hone your performance skills. We are excited to bring in some powerhouse instructors - both local and national - to be a part of this month of workshops.
Shows, Shows, Shows, & Auditions for Shows
Friday night is the opening night of DCH's newest sketch revue, Suspect: A True Crimedy. If you like murder podcasts and comedy - or just murder, or just comedy - chances are you'll love this new show. There will be a photobooth in the lobby for opening weekend. Students get in for free with student IDs (pending available seats).
This Sunday at 6:00 PM is the August Pipeline show! If you've never been to a Pipeline, it's a super fun, experimental hour of comedy. Hang out with fellow students and performers and they put up some of the goofiest acts you'll see.
Tonight, you can check out the debut of SkyWalker's sketch show at 9:30. You only have two chances to see it (this week and next). If you want to be a part of the next round of Walker Sketch Shows, be sure to submit your writing packed by end of day today (Wednesday 8/16) for consideration. Check-out the new DCH Library! It's adorable. It's shaped like a house. It is in the pink nook in the Training Center. Feel free to borrow a book before class or in between rehearsals. There are also some board games for you to enjoy! If you have any extra improv/sketch/stand-up/comedy related books you would like to donate, feel free to add them to the library! Please make sure anything you take off the shelf gets put back for others to enjoy as well.
Last chance to see 'Return of the '90s' is this weekend! If you haven't seen the current DCH sketch show, check it out this Friday or Saturday at 9:00. See the show my mom calls "The best thing she's seen at DCH" even though I'm not in this show and she's seen me perform a lot at DCH.
Walker Wednesdays continue tonight at 9:30! It's your last chance to see teams Walker Hershel and Walker Dog's hilarious sketch shows. And, if you're interested in being on the NEXT Walker team, auditions will be on Saturday, 8/19 at noon. You also must have completed at least Sketch 2 at the theater.
Pipeline submissions will be posted today! Be on the lookout on the DCH Training Center Facebook Page for the submissions doc for the next Pipeline. Pipeline is a show where anything goes. Try out all your half-baked ideas! The next Pipeline is Saturday, 8/20 at 6:00PM
