Don't Think Twice About Seeing This Movie! We're so thrilled that Mike Birbiglia has chosen DCH as one of his theater stops during his summer press tour for his upcoming film: Don't Think Twice. Over 100 people sent in emails asking Mike and his team to choose DCH on his tour and he said he knew it was a no-brainer based on all these responses. Thanks to everyone who sent in an email to put in a good word for DCH!
We'll be giving away tickets to the screening on July 10th. There will also be a workshop on Monday, July 11th. More details about both coming soon. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, WATCH IT HERE! It's fantastic and the movie looks great. If you like it, you should share it on social media! Some important Training Center stuff happening this week: TONIGHT is the Free Class. If you have friends/co-workers/family who are always like, "Oh yeah, maybe I'll take a class some day..." send 'em to the Free Improv Class tonight at 7pm at the theater. (And if they are super nervous, you can always join them for support!) TONIGHT is the Deadline to Register for Term 3B Classes. Improv Level 1, 2, and 3 are being offered this upcoming term as we continue to build out our "Registering Every Month" class schedule. Remember that for every two students who name you as their referral, you save 50% off your own class registration (wowewowow!) TUESDAY is the Day We All Rent Rooms. Tuesday 5/31 at 8pm, come meet Amanda in the bar and claim your room for the upcoming month. $50 for the month, or $10 an hour for specific days. Room rentals are cash only. Jams! Town Halls! Ewings! Lost! Found!Summer is almost here, which means I'm thinking a lot about ice cream.
Anyways, here's the scoop on all the things you should know about: Level 1 Jam Next Tuesday (May 24) is a Level 1 Jam takeover. All Level 1 classes are invited to come, jam, and mingle with fellow level 1-ers. Not in Level 1? Come play anyway and meet the newest crop of DCH students. DCH Town Hall Twice a year, we host a DCH Town Hall. We answer questions. We talk about where DCH is heading. It's a wonderful way to get info straight from the source! Mark your calendars for the next Town Hall - Tuesday, June 28 from 6:30-8:00pm (right before the Jam and Open Mic!) Click here to submit questions for consideration in advance - or show up at ask questions in person. Ewing Auditions Our next round of Ewing auditions are coming up! June 4th are auditions for Ewing(s) performing in July and August. Check out more information on the Auditions page. Lost & Found It's time for Spring Cleaning! Artifacts collected at the theater and training center since January 2016 will be available for pick-up for the next two weeks in the Training Center, after which time (June 1st) we will be donating the items. Please only take items that belong to you. Classes are FunI think we can all agree that DCH classes are pretty fun. You meet new people. You learn new skills. You get a three-hour break from adulthood to let loose. It's almost too fun not to share, right?
Sure - having your friends join in on the DCH fun means they get to be a part of this lovely and loving comedy community. And, yeah, it means you can kill two birds with one stone by seeing your two-shows AND chill with your friend. But wait! There's more! If you refer two friends and they write your name in the "how'd you hear about us" section of their class registration, you get a 50% credit toward your class. If you get four friends, you tuition is completely covered. (What? A free class without interning? THAT'S CRAZY!). The credit can either be refunded toward your class enrollment, or applied to future course selections. Registration links are up for Terms 3B and 4A. Let the saving (and fun!) begin! DCH Homecoming, Sketch Auditions, & Parking Violations!DCH Homecoming
Do you sometimes feel like DCH is your home away from home? Like you met all your best friends here and it's kind of like high school, but infinitely better because everyone is cool and no one is a jerk? Do you wish you could bring your parents and family to visit? Wanna dance? Well, well, well... looks what we've got planned for the fall! DCH Homecoming weekend will be all of those things and more. Think of it like a college parents weekend, meets reunion with friends, meets DCH dance party. We will have free workshops for parents of DCH students and alumni so they can learn about all those "skits" you've been doing. We will have food and bar specials all weekend long. And, of course, we will have a dance party on Saturday night where we crown the Homecoming King and Queen (because we're all adults here, right?) Save the date! September 23-24. Sketch Auditions If you want to be a part of the newest DCH Sketch Revue, audition packets are due to Amanda this coming Sunday, end of day (11:59pm). Click here to read more about the audition. All are encouraged to submit! Parking Violations Sometimes parking can get crazy in Deep Ellum. We are so grateful to have a lot of our own - but even that can get a little tight and out of hand. For safety and business operations, here are some clarifications on where you cannot park in the DCH lot: |
