First things first: Tonight at 11:59PM is the deadline to register for classes starting next week! Don't miss out. Sketch. Storytelling. Stand-up. Improv. So many options to learn and grow!
Second things second: NEXT Saturday, DCH is playing host for the Texas A&M Crawfish Boil. This means the Aggies are coming and will be parting in our parking lot all day. Although they will be cleared out by the time shows get started, the parking lot will not be available during the day for Saturday 5/6 classes and rehearsals. Remember: street parking is FREE during the day, albeit sometimes difficult to find. Please allow extra time to find parking on Saturday during the day. Additionally, this means cars CANNOT be left in our lot over night on Friday 5/5. We will be posting signs in the lot as a reminder/notice next week. Set-up for the Crawfish Boil will being early Saturday morning. Cars in the lot at 6AM will be towed. Third things third: Office hours for May are just around the corner! Full-time DCH staff is here to answer questions, brainstorm ideas, or just talk about their work streams. Whether you want to talk about the bar/kitchen with Brian Harrington, about shows and submissions with David Allison, about booking a corporate show or renting out the venue with Madison Frihart, about classes and workshops with Maggie Rieth Austin, or about general DCH priorities with Amanda Austin - YOU CAN DO THAT! New Parking Signs, Pipeline, Classes, & Sketch Revues Galore!(As you head up to DCH this week, you'll probably notice a few new signs in the parking lot. Here's the scoop: The parking space where the dumpster ::used:: to be located is reserved for the closing bartender. This is to guarantee our bartender, here 'til the wee hours of the morning, has a spot within easy walking distance to the theater. Do not park in this spot if this is not you. Additionally, spots along the fence in the back alley are no parking (see photo). When cars park here, they block our parking lot exit/elm street entrance for emergency vehicles and other cars. And, because of the new dumpster location, you could also be blocking staff's ability to throw out the night's garbage. If you park here, you will be towed. But you know what's not garbage and parking? All the fun things happening this week.
For example, Sunday at 7:30 is the monthly Pipeline show! This experimental show is always a lot of fun - and, it's free! Unlike previous Pipelines, this month's show will be held in the DCH theater immediately following the Sketch 2 showcase. That's right - showcases are this week! Support your fellow students and performers as they hit the stage and show off their newest comedy skills. Then, sign-up for your next class to continue your own education. If you're signing up for classes in the B Term (starting up in mid-May), tonight ends Early Bird Registration and is your last chance to save $30. Other fun things happening around the theater:
Classes & Workshop Posted! The Deep Ellum Arts Festival is (mostly) cleaned up and we have access to parking again! Come celebrate this week by seeing a show, coming to a jam, or just parking on Main Street because you CAN!

Parking & the Deep Ellum Arts Fest: Thursday-Sunday This weekend (Friday-Sunday) is the Deep Ellum Arts Festival. If you've never been, it's a lovely street fest showcasing artists of all kinds right here in Deep Ellum. It's lots of fun and will be taking place down Main Street (including in front of DCH). We will also be hosting a little festival action of our own in our parking lot and theater. Paintings for sale by DCH performers/students, face-painting, and outdoor games are some of the fun things to do. Stop by and say 'hi'! How does the Deep Ellum Arts Festival impact you? Street parking in Deep Ellum will be closed starting Thursday and running thru the Deep Ellum Arts Fest. The map above (edited by our very own Corey Whaley) shows parking options in Deep Ellum during the festival. Classes and shows are still scheduled as normal, so please plan accordingly for how you will get to Deep Ellum this weekend.
