Bar Contest CONTEST ALERT! We're all excited for #2018DCF (can't you tell?) and are hosting a promo contest to help spread the good work. We'll be selecting promo winners the week after the festival and announcing on April 4th's What's Up Wednesday. Promos can be videos, posters, GIFs... get creative! Training Center Closed During the Dallas Comedy Festival
Monday, March 26-Sunday, April 1, the Training Center will be closed. This means no classes will meet, and no rehearsals will take place. Monday night, volunteers will be cleaning classrooms and setting up the front area of the Training Center to act as the festival Hospitality Suite. Tuesday-Saturday, the space will be used as a gathering hub for festival pass holders and performers. Sunday is a day of rest for everyone who went hard during the festival (it's also Easter for those who celebrate). Enjoy DCH's spring break and come join us for shows and workshops at#2018DCF! Ewing Auditions on Saturday, March 24 at 12 PM If you are enrolled in Improv Level 3+/graduate of the DCH Training Center, you can (and totally should!) audition for the Ewing! Those selected for a team will get eight straight weeks of shows on Thursday at 9:30, the opportunity to play with a new group of performers, and the guidance of a fantastic coach. Plus, the audition experience is an important milestone for all performers. Shake off the nerves and challenge yourself to audition! More info can be found here. Free Class is NEXT Wednesday (NOT the Last Wednesday) Due to the Dallas Comedy Festival, the Free Improv Class will be this coming Wednesday (3/21) and NOT the last Wednesday of the month. Chug chug nom nom ♥ #2018DCF Workshops and shows for the 2018 Dallas Comedy Festival are filling up! Remember to get your tickets and start planning your week for March 27-31. There are SO many out of town and local acts you won't want to miss. Here are some friendly reminders so you don't accidentally miss out:
Ewing Auditions Interested in being on a Ewing, meeting new people, getting better at improv, having a regular timeslot to get a ton of stage time? YOU SHOULD AUDITION FOR THE EWING! If you are enrolled in level 3+ or a graduate of the improv program, we'll see you at the next audition: Saturday, 3/24 at noon. Take a Seat If you stumble (read: walk) into a theater during a show, please take a seat and enjoy (read: don't crowd around the door). If there aren't any seats, it means the show is soldout and you're going to have to catch it the next time around or ask the performers for a play-by-play in the bar after the show. Along these same lines, please do not use the doors to the theaters that are off the performer hallway to enter/exit shows. We are trying to keep all traffic going in to the theaters from the main hallway. Thank you for helping us smooth this process out. Interns, bar staff, and the whole-wide-world thanks you! |
